Confused on the extreme

I know on the window sticker when i purchased my extreme it said it included a preformance package. I've compared witha stock 2 door and have yet to find any differences. I'm just curious what it is and how much more hp its giving me over the base vortech 4.3

i think it depends on what year of the truck? and from what i have read the Xtreme is only body molding.....there is no special engine mods....there definitly should have been, like a supercharger or something...

It's just a appearance package.A stock ZQ8 with the L35 engine has the same suspension and engine as the Xtreme except the groud effects.And if it's a 4 banger nothing but looks.

Actually, its both a appearance and performance package. No, there is no engine mods or transmission mods, but the performance package is for the suspension: Lowered about 2 inches with coils up front and different leaf springs in the rear, 1 1/4 inch front swaybar, 7/8 inch rear swaybar, De Carbon or Bilstein shocks which is the ZQ8 option. The appearance part of it includes ground effects, and a front valance with 16x8 inch Speedline wheels wrapped with P235/55/R16 Goodyear rubber.

Not all Xtremes/ZQ8 came with the hop shock, but I believe that it was standard on the 00-01 4.3L 5 speed trucks and an option for the auto. My old 00 4 banger 5 speed had the brackets on the axle tube, but lacked the frame bracket and its the same way as my 03 zq8.

my 03 has the shock... and i'm a 5 speeder with the 3.42 G80, locking diff.

some xtreme's/zq8's came with an8.5" G80 rear end
there are additional frame braces and a camaro quick ratio steering box and color matching bumpers/airdame and front facia.

Not all of them came with the third shock. My '02 Xtreme Blazer does not have it.

It is a traction aiding device that uses a shock absorber mounted horizontally to reduce the amount of spring wrap that results in wheel hop.
