Just press the blue OnStar button and you'll be connected to the OnStar Center where trained, knowledgeable, live Advisors are ready to help. Plus, some OnStar vehicles give you the ability to send and receive calls like you would using a wireless phone minus inconvenient dialing.

24 hours a day, 365 days a year, OnStar's only a button away. And if your front air bag deploys, OnStar will try contacting you.


Automatic Notification of Air Bag Deployment

n the event that your front air bags deploy, your vehicle will send a signal to the OnStar Center.

An Advisor will attempt to contact you, inquiring whether or not you need assistance. If you can't answer, emergency help will be notified and your location will be provided.

Emergency Services

If you find yourself or another person in a situation where you need immediate assistance from police, fire or emergency medical services (EMS), simply press the red emergency button. Your location information is transmitted to the OnStar Center and your call takes priority status on an Advisor's screen. Even if the person who needs help does not have OnStar, you can alert an Advisor.

Within seconds, an OnStar Advisor can contact the nearest emergency service provider with your location and your request for help.

Stolen Vehicle Tracking


If you determine that your vehicle has been stolen, OnStar will help the police determine its whereabouts.

Remote Door Unlock

Just give the Advisor your PIN and they'll send a signal to unlock your door (if available on your vehicle). You can even have it delayed up to 15 minutes to give you enough time to get to your vehicle.

Or, if you remembered that you forgot to lock your doors once you're away from your vehicle, an Advisor can send a signal to lock them for you (if available on your vehicle).

Driving Directions

Not everyone likes to admit when they're lost, but then, not everyone has OnStar. Helpful Advisors with current digital maps are a better way to make sure you're headed in the right direction. Upon your request, they'll use a global positioning system to locate your vehicle and give you clear directions to your destination or guidance to nearby hotels, ATMs, etc.

Get directions without stopping. Plus the Advisor will save them to your account in case you need to refer to them again.

Roadside Assistance

Whether you need gas, a tire changed or your car towed, an OnStar Advisor can contact help. Plus, they can notify a friend or relative to let them know you'll be on your way shortly or that you'll need a ride.

GM® Goodwrench® Remote Diagnostics

If your "Check Engine" light comes on, an Advisor can remotely check it out*. They can even schedule a service appointment for you.
