We just recived out GM Performance Parts High Torque 383 Stroker, it produces over 400 FT/LBS of torque all the way from 2,000 RPM up untill redline. it's going in a 2003 ZQ8 S-10 Reg cab. Still looking at tranny options. possably thinking leaving the 4L60-E untill we save up for a TCI TH-350. just wondering how the engine would control the shift points of the tranny w/ out a TPS sensor and this engine having a 750 Street Demon Carb. i have to leave for work right now but will get full specs and hopefully some pictures by tomorrow

It Has a 4340 Eagle crank. the bottom end is built like a brick ****house

do you mean without a tv cable .. a dont have a tv cable and if i dont ratchet shft my gears every time it shifts too fast but you dont have to rev it to the redline each time .. its just more fun

From what ive heard and read the 4L60-E relys on the TPS sensor and a few other sensors to shift, ive never seen a rachet shifter for a 4L60-E. but me and my dad are working on a plan to hook the tps sensor up to the carb to make it think its still a 6 cyl, but we wont know for sure how the thing works untill we take it apart, its about 100 degress during the day up here so were just working on it when it cools off at night. we have a ford 9 inch rear were gonna have the axles cut and re splined, but for now untill we have the cash for that we wanna just drop in the stroker and play a little bit. just worried about all that torque and if the tranny can handle it.

oh yea them TH-305's arent a highway friendly tranny, unless ur into burngin a lot of gas, im still working on a way to get rid of the computer and put in a manual valve body on the 4L60-E untill we save up for a TCI or Abbruzzi Racing Competition Tranny.

What about a built 700R4? Same as 4L60E but no electronics, right?

if you are not careful you will blow the 4l60-e to pieces with all that torque.
if you want to trans to work on its own you will have to get a trans control unit which is not worth it if you are putting a t-350 in it. the trans you have now relies on the TPS and VSS to shift. if you have not TPS then it will always shift way too early. a ratchet shifter for a 700r-4 will work with the 4l60-e but i almost guarantee that the first time you hit the 1-2 shift at full throttle you will blow the sun gear shell. that is to much torque for that trans

yea thats a lot of torque for that tranny, it will onyl be a few more weeks before we order the th 350, so well just wait, the temptation of just dropping in the 383 in is a lot, hell i sleep like 6 feet from it.
