I get alot of wheel hop also. I recently lowered the rear 2" hoping it would help. It didn,t change. Installing new shocks and motor mounts helped. To answer your question[from what I have heard] trac bars are well worth the money. I plan on getting some.

You should be able to make some universal one's work. Someone on here got some not too long ago. He said they worked great.

ya i was lookin on Summit and saw the trac bars were running at like $125, and they work on 2wd blazers, and i was thinking, hell that should work with a 2wd s10 right? i figure the 2wd blazer leafs were the same setup as a 2wd s10 right?

I'm not sure. Someone else will have to answer that. I wouldn't think there would be much difference though.

eyy man been there done that.... Search for threads "traction Devices" and "leaf spring clamp kit"... I experimented with a few set ups.... Mike put the clamps on. If you just want to do burnouts then get the hop shock, but if you want to HOOK(!) then get slappers (lakewoods) slide-a-link or Caltracs (the best but very $$$).
The Lakewood bars are about 120 bucks and they work great, you give up a little ride quality depending on how tight you set it up (mine are tight but they hook hard)....I think the modle number is LAK21705 or somthing like that. If you get em used get some new snubbers so you can find your set-up.

Yeah, but I dont blame ya. Wheelhop will lead to more stress and failures. I still want to do some better traction devices. Im waiting for some of thoe Helwig 550 things to show up cheap on Ebaymike testify man... How much did I ***** about wheel hop hahaha!

My stock hopshock is just black and nothing on it. My stock ZQ8 shocks are Bilstein and yellow/blue. I was just wondering if you out a reg shock up there and how it worked out.
Ive been looking into doing something else there and have some input for some input =)

i havnt messed with my rear shocks, as far as replacing them or moving them around, when i got the truck it had that bilstein hop shock on it, that thing was a PITA to put back in after we got the rearend done
I use the ce slide a links on my truck... They work beautiful with the drag radials...
I have found that tuning them can be a bit time consuming...
They adjust by turning the rear portion of the bar making it longer... that bar pushes up against a rubber durometer (a round hunk of rubber mounted between the front and rear bar) The tighter you have the bar adjusted the more preload you establish...
I have gone from just touching the durometer all the way to 4 turns past contact...
The following list is how the adjustments affected the rear end and how well it did or did not hook up... The passenger adjustments is half a turn more than the drivers side...
Adjustment 1: just touching the durometer on drivers side 1/2 turn past on the passengers side... Very little traction control there was still slight wheel hop and up in smoke the tires went...
Adjustment 2: 1 turn on drivers side 1 1/2 turn on passengers side... Better launch no wheel hop and slightly better traction...
Adjustment 3: 2 turns on drivers side 2 1/2 on passenger side... completly different truck... harder launch and more traction...
Adjustment 4: 3 turns on drivers side 3 1/2 on passenger... best setting for my truck planted hard and lifted the front slightly... no wheel spin off the line and no traction issues after a good burnout...
Adjustment 5: 4 turns on drivers side 4 1/2 turn on passengers side... The truck pulled to the left hard on launch... could not get it to launch straight... too much preload on the suspension...
all in all the slide a links work well for me... CE suggests that you adjust them for the street and the strip but i have mine adjusted and locked down I leave them like they are at all times... leaving from a red light on the street plants you back in the seat rather nicely if the pavement is clean and dry... I can still spin em up at any time i want to tho...
