i just put a gibson exhasut on my 2.2, would it be worth the money to compliment the system with a high flow catylitic converter. I know the hp gains would only be 2-5hp but sound wise would it make a difference? thanks in advance

You already have a high flow cat. All OBD2 do.

Vehicles made since 1996 (some 94's and 95's also) have post catalyst monitoring (O2 sensor behind the converter). Which also means they are high capacity (read high-flow).

Anytime. I see lots of companys hawking high capacity cats as high flow. There are some real high flow converters on the market but by the time you're flowing that much you've got more cubic inches or rpm's than 99% of us will ever see.
I then ask myself, why have a converter at all if that's the need? ;)

also, in the words of my bud Sparky here, "Dempsey, if you get a high flow cat, you will notice an immediate high flow out of your wallet."

haha, thanks guys
I think cats in a performance application are useless.I have mine rigged so I can reinstall it when it's time for the sniffer test and I remove it again afterwords.I don't run one at all on my Chevelle or plan to.For the majority of the world they are a must have. But for that extra horsepower no cats are an advantage.Because even the highest flowing cats are still simply an obstruction.

how did u rig it? did you just take some exhaust piping but a 3bolt tiangle on it and hook it on with exhaust clamps? Let me know how you set it up

if i was to gut the cat completley and leave my Gibson sytem on, would it be worth it and would emissions find out?

If you gut it, it's gonna act like an expansion chamber and sound a lot different. Read not good.
Tailpipe emissions will probably catch it. Plug in emissions, with an O2 simulator won't catch it.
Probably not worth it in your case.
