Throttle Body Spacers (TBS) work good for the TBI and carbed engines and you can expect a 5-10hp increase. I don't know what engine you have but that info would help in answering your question. Also what other mods do you have?

Yes, but there are many different years for the 4.3. A throttle body spacer won't do anything on a cpi motor, or on the '96 up trucks. Good luck on the injectors, regulator if you have a '96 up motor.

i disagree with the does nothing for 96 and up......accompanied by the tb mod i could tell a difference in throttle response. friend has a 96 silverado and he told me the same thing....it's not horribly noticable but u can tell. might not be 5 horse but i think it works.

I have heard and feel that the only one that would do any good is the one made by Powerdyne. I picked up mine used for $30 and I think it was decent. I could tell a difference but nothing major. Mine is on my '98.

i have a powerdyne on my 01. its ok...mainly gives better gas mileage than HP. you really cant see much of a difference with or without it.

what about the noise from the powerdyne?? loud or quiet

No noise from it at all from what I can tell. My brother had the one by air raid and that thing was noisy at certain RPM's. It would get this "whiste" that I found aggravating.
This powerdyne hasn't made any noise. It doesn't have the silly "helix" crap on it which I think is the source of most of the noises. It has notches (can't really think of a better term for them) that in theory would speed up the outer edges of the column of air (kinda like a venturi would do) and the added speed gives the performance enhancement.
I could be completely off on this so if anyone knows differently, please tell me!

i have a 98 4.3 and i was thinking about gettin the one form airaid ill let u know if theres anytihng noticeable .. i heard u only really can feel a difference if u have other things like intake and exhaust... i already got the airaid intake and got a exhaust... doubt its gonna be a big gain but with gas prices might as well try it..and as for the noise i heard its not that loud and its in the upper rpms but then i dont own it so im only going from what has been said to me

its not very loud...the loud ones are the ones with the helix spin or whatever it is

I just don't like the whole air raid swirl deal. It's hokey in my opinion. The swirling in the upper plenum won't mean crap, it'll just be more turbulent. Now, a faster volume of air seems like a better plan, which is why I went ahead and snagged the powerdyne. If ya like whistles, and the anodized red color, get the air raid by all means. :p
