Hi Everyone,

I've been having this vibration for a long time in my 97 Blazer and no solution yet.
When I hit a bump/pothole/bad road condition, I feel like the whole Blazer is shaking. You coud feel it in the console, seats, door panels, mirrors......
My first thought are those darn motor mounts. I think they are busted. Do those make such behavior?
I have changed to Bilsteins and ever since the ride is much stiffer but you could feel the tires sticking to the road. I changed the links on the torsion bar mount and the rear axle. I also suspected tire pressure, and tried different settings to no use.

Any help would be great.

Broken motor mounts would create at totally different problem, so you can rule that one out. If this has been happinin since you bought the blazer I would ignore it. It is a truck, it is gonna ride a little stiffer and less refinded than a car. My ex had a 99 blazer that did the same thing. Since you said it has torsion bars, its gonna be a 4wd truck. 4wd's ALWAYS ride rougher than a 2wd truck. My ex had a 99 blazer that did the same thing. If you really want to soften up the ride, crank the torsion bars down, you will lose some lift, but it will significantly soften up your ride. Another thing you could do is deflate your tires down to 32 psi or so. Doing this will soften up your ride, but will also affect your mileage.

My driveshaft caused all of my vibration.

When does it vibrate? Just when you hit something or at a certain speed/rpm?

Sounds a lot like a bad shock or lower ball joint. Easy to ck. either of those.

It Vibrates when i hit something

What would the mounts cause?

You can rule the shocks out i've changed those already, I would check the lower ball joints though.

I'm starting to think that I should just accept that fact for a 4x4 just like T Man said.

thanks for the feedback, will get back with results.

Check out your ball joints. Broken motor mounts will cause the motor to move whenever the gas is applied....the torque will rock the motor. It isnt a vibration. You will know it when you get it, it aint a pretty feeling. my roommate last year had a broken mount in his car.

Some more investigating. The shaking gets worse when I'm taking a right turn! Worn suspension component it seems.

CHECK YOUR BALL JOINTS!!! thats probably your problem. If you can lift your truck in the air and grab the tire and listen for a knocking noise or feel for movement when trying to tilt the tire towards and away from you. to check the tie rods is side to side motion feeling for the same thing. Good luck

if it has about 100000 on the clock i'd bet it needs ball joints.
