zq8 blazer?

I saw what I thought to be a ZQ8 Blazer today. It had the stance, was a 2dr and had the wheels, it looked stock. Did a zq8 blazer get built ever?

my other research shows it as an extreme trim only, but I could be wrong. Suspension, rims,steering box, specific set-up kinda like a trim option I imagine.

No such thing as a zq8 Blazer. A Blazer X has what I believe is called z85 suspension which is very similar to zq8. The 04 Blazer Xs come with zq8s wheels though.

The ZQ8 suspension is optional on the S10 trucks, but not the Blazer. The ZQ8 package includes 16x8 rims with 235/55-16 Goodyear Eagle GA tires. Slightly softer springs that lower the truck two inches, firmer shocks, a large diameter (1-5/16") front sway bar and a 7/8" rear sway bar. Also included on the ZQ8 package is a Power Hop Shock (horizontal rear shock absorber to reduce axle hop, see page 12-4), and a quick-ratio steering box with 2-3/4 turns lock-to-lock. The ZQ8 suspension also includes special urathane bumpstops front and rear, which offer a more progressive action when the lowered suspension contacts the bumpstops. The ZQ8 is a $700 option, which is a bargain because it costs a lot more to buy piece-by-piece. The nice thing about the ZQ8 pieces is that they can be added to older style 2wd S-10 Trucks and Blazers.

The ZQ8 pieces added to the above Blazer make it handle better and look better. The ride is firmer than the stock suspension, but it handles bumpy roads with no floating or bottoming. On corners, the Blazer leans less and grips better. Overall, the ZQ8 suspension is a great performance package.

no no no...i was sayin that by the way you explained it....it was simply going thru all the components to add to a Blazer to MAKE it a Zq8 therefore doing it the hard way(not previously made so you gotta do all the work)

Also called the 3rd shock. You can get it from the dealership. Part #s you ask:

Damn i still need to get this setup to.
B/c GMC cheaped out and stopped install it on newer vehicles.
So my 2001 ZQ8 don't have no 3rd "hop" shock.

As was said previously, there wasn't an actual "ZQ8" Blazer. They did, however, make Blazers similar to the Xtremes, but with the newer ZQ8 rims and no ground effects. Driven one -- I'd love to get one as a daily driver -- very nice.

i owned 2 diferent zq8 s10's both 2000 models and I never seen this "horizontal shock"? I lowered both myself and never seen this on either truck, I'm not saying theres no such thing just that it might have been something not so common.

Did the 3rd shock, only come on the zq8's with a 4.3/and manual tranny like the 8.5 rear dif?

The 3rd shockcould be on an Auto or Manual. Also was on the 7.625 and 8.5 diffs. IDK what year they started it. Im sure it could be a 4.3 exclusive part
