How do I figure out which K&N I can fit on this intake? I want to switch it out like yesterday... it was a cheapo and the filter shows, its really quite....how do I switch this thing

I bet it's a 3 inch diameter filter like most intakes are.Just go to any parts store and you will find cone filters for 3 inch intakes.I wouldn't pay high dollar for a K&N if they had a generic one for cheaper.There is no real difference between them.

then why bother even changing from the one I have?? I mean mines pretty quite but Im sure it works good, hell I can barely hear the TB spacer

do you have a stock exhaust, if not the exhaust is probably covering up the sound, maybe switching out the MAF sensor with a granatelli (spelling) one will change that. just an idea

Just because you can't hear it doesn't mean it isn't working.If the filter is clean and free of debris I would leave it alone.And If I was you I would get a heat shield of some sorts.Make your own if you have to it's not that hard.

what materail should I use for the heat shield??

Aluminum, high temp plastic, etc. It'll peak temp around 225-230 at the most. Basically something easy to work with tha will allow incoming air to not compete with underhood air. Not really looking for an insulator, just a block.
