g/f has a 99 ext cab...the clear plastic on her gauges cracked...found a mint condition one in the junkyard....was wondering if you can just swap the whole cluster? or if it' not that computer based as far as odo goes and such.....if i can't just swap out the whole cluster will the plastic beable to be cut off the new one and glued onto hers? or just leave it cracked?......

the plastic should just unscrew if i recall correctly.

no this stuff is glued over the gauges the guage panel itself unscrews but the clear plastic cover does not

I don't have much experience with gauges but, try this, use some goo gone to loosen the glue, then get the glue off the face plate, and then glue it back on after washing the stuff off it first and see how that works, also wait for a post from someone else first for a second opinion.

In order to service the gauges, the plastic cover has to come off. End of story.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE



Remove the instrument panel cluster.
Gently pry the lens retaining tabs away from the cluster housing.
Remove the lens from the cluster housing.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE



Install the lens to the cluster housing by snapping it into place.
Install the instrument panel cluster.

that go the same for no tach? just curious cuz the one in the pic has a tach....
