i have a 97 4.3l, and i have some homemade manifolds, that i have bought, and i just figured out, they dont fit. so, what i was wondering, will sy/ty manifolds fit on vortec heads? if so, that would help me out with the manifolds.
Nope '96 and newer heads are different.
Check out these threads, they will help you get one that will fit.

i dont have any pics. but i have some home made manifolds that i bought off ebay, that said, they came off of a 4.3l s10. but after i bought them, i found out they came off like a pro drag truck.

yea. im planning on selling the manifolds, turbo, and downpipe, that it came with. i think it came off like a pro stock drag truck or something. because, it places the turbo on the totally wrong spot on my truck. w/e it came of, proly had like a tube fram or something with out fender wells.
stock syty exhaust manifolds will bolt up to vortec heads no problem. there are also a few companies that make tubular headers, but they are pricey

yea, thanks alot. i wasnt gonna put manifolds on there, i just wanted to know if manifolds will fit, cuz if they will, i will buy a nice set of tubular manifolds. will the sy/ty crosspipe work too?
on the stock manifolds yes. if you buy tubular ones from say ATR, then they will come with a new crossover pipe. i know for a fact the stock cross over will clear the accesories on 95 and older s10's. i am pretty sure they will clear the newer accessory postions as well

are the atr tubular manifolds any good? they are really expensive compared to some used manifolds. and i just dont want to spend money like that on something that might crack.
i have no experience with them personally, just what i have read. i would go to syty.net and do some searching on them.
FYI stock manifolds can be bought for around 300

I've been told the only item of fittment is that a support bracket for PS is lost. But that same guy said he had K's of miles and a few month without issue not having the bracket on.

I heard the same thing from xtreme43. Some say the rag joint on the steering shaft gets in the way, another said it didnt. Worse came to worse a steering shaft from a cherokee will fit with minor adj and has a univ joint.
