Not planning on doing it in the near future, but started thinking about it. I've been searching the web for a bit today, and it looks like there's not too much out there for upgrades. Brembo has calipers, Wilwood has calipers, and I found one company that has a kit with 13" rotors, calipers, spindles etc... but it's 2g. Has anyone found an economical way to upgrade the brakes? I know the fullsize came with 12" rotors, but I think that would be a very involved swap, maybe not even practical.

That company that has the 13" rotors and spindle is that the BAER S10 upgrade? that totals out to about 2G for all 4 wheels, but its on my wish list, cross drilled and vented rotors and dual piston calipers up front with all new lines and bolts right in, i like it. but it is spendy as hell but its what i need cause i do a lot of road racing with hard braking and after about 25 minutes the stock stoppers get so damn hot i gotta downshift to slow down.

If you are looking for brake upgrades there is always Stainles Steel Brakes Corporation.

How about 13" rotors with 4 piston aluminum calipers for stopping power:

You can search for what they have for your truck on their website. They aren't cheap though.

Ya, that's the ones I saw. I think it was almost $2g for the kit. Although it did come with everything, including those nice big rotors :D

I have that set-up on my truck and love them. As you can see they fill up an 18" wheel completly...

If your looking to do it on a budget, I'd do 98+ Blazer brakes with spindle on the front and LS1 Camaro rear discs.

That is a thing of beauty canyon!!! my problem with that kit is that the rotors are not crossdrilled although the 4 piston caliper would make up for that. but the front alone is 2G. plus i really dont want the drop spindle cause that would down 6" in the front but im sure you can get the kit without it. I like this kit from Baer, found it in Truckin volume 31 page 83. Stylinconcepts.com supposed to have it as PN # RN50503 but it doesnt show i called and they have them it just doesnt work on the web site. but if i had to choose i would go with the baer kit.

Yeah, you can't go wrong with Baer.

you can do a tall spindle swap & get bigger brakes that way, too. S trucks & G bodies share the same front suspension. single piston calipers standard. then either use the 11 or 12 inch rotors, depending on the spindles you choose.. or go w/ some brackets from http://www.kore3.com/ to throw on the C5 calipers & rotors. this is what I'm gettin ready to do on my truck.. got all the parts & did the mods to the spindles I grabbed from the yard. Kore3 also offers a rear kits... one uses C5 rotors, but you lose your e-brake. although they have told me they're working on a kit that allows function of the e-brake.
