I cannot figure the problem out.. none of my fuses are blown... my subs still work (randomly off and on but very very soft)..

the thing is when i start up my stereo... the protection light on the amp blinks(always has...normal)... and the power light comes on like normal... the difference is that the power light sloowly fades until it is to the point where it looks off. I checked the hookup from the battery to the amp.. and every other wire in the damn thing....

could it be i just need a new amp? please help.. i miss my subs

make sure you have a REALLY good ground and check the rem. wire.

check the ground, check your fuse holder too, fuse might be loose. what kind of amp is it? and does it work when the light is out, or not?

but did you sand all the paint?
Also could be the batt. I had one w/ 590CA and everytime I got big bass drops it shut off the amp. Now I have the redtop.

no.. it only works when the light is on... The amp is a kicker( kinda older) but works like a bute....

It doesnt shut the amp off everytime i get big bass... it just does not work at all now... it used to do fine with big bass.
And yes i sanded down the paint.

id say your amp is messed up internally somehow. i think replacing it would be the best idea

All they will do is hook it up in their shop and run it. If it doesn't work there then its the amp.
If you want you can take it apart after the test, and see if there is any burn spots in it.
It might have overheated then shorted out.
Do you have it in a well ventalated (sp) area?

What model amp is it? The amp module (depending on model) may have rattled loose. Common thing with Kickers.

i had a similar problem with my kicker amp...ended up actually being one of my subs blown...for ****s and grins...while its hitting, unplug just one of the RCA cables from it...see if it hits or if it cuts out like its currently doing...mine ended up being a blown sub..other then that...i say ground problem :D
