View Full Version : Shaved gas door?
Not tryin to get too crazy with stuff, but I think it would be kinda cool to shave my gas filler door, but nothing else, kinda one of those "huh, i think something is missing" deals. My roommate has his shaved on his 2nd gen, and I ddnt even notice it until I went to put gas in it and was like "uhhhh, wtf!" Course, his truck is shaved, handles, gas filler, squirters, etc (has his taillights) and his frame sits 1.5 inches off the ground, static drop. Ill throw up some pics soon, im trying to buy it off of him, just so i have a good gas mileage truck. (X Cab with a 4cyl 5spd on 17" boyds) Anyway, whats everyones thoughts on this? Too rice?

your truck, do what you want. i think it would be really trick if you put in a Grant steering wheel and re-routed your filler neck to where the horn button goes!!! sorry, i had to say it. but that really throw people off if the that was the only thing you shaved.
Exactally, thats what I was going for.

im curious how to do it on my 02.. id like to do it as well, and put it anywhere out of the ordinary... even behind the taillight would be nice, or the license plate would be sweet. if anyone knows the how to could the let me know thanks.
suicidedoors.com has filler plates, all you would have to do is the hard part in relocating the filler cap.

build your self a wood bed and locate the filler tube in the floor

There's a kit out for putting the gas filler behind a tail light like was done from the factory on the '56 Belair. That's one pretty cool way to shave the filler door.
I have a hard time calling a mod like this "too rice" because the imports shouldn't get credit for this. It's been done on street rods and customs for at least 40 years!
Go for it!!
My roommates truck is relocated to in the bed where the litle hump is on the drivers side front.

in a blazer to put it behind the plate would be a pain in the ass with the stock tank ...you might wanna look into a fuel cell if your that into it
