View Full Version : Starting problem
Get into the truck today to start it, and nothing, not acting like it wants to crank, nothing, no noise at all. With the key in the crank and the run position, none of my gauges move. Tested voltage across the battery, 12.73 volts, hmmmmm, what the hell is going on?
EDIT: It ran fine when I pulled it in the driveway last night, no problems at all.
Voltage drop between batt. and starter is .02 volts.

What is voltage drop between the block and the ground terminal?
What is the voltage at the purple wire on the starter (S terminal) when key is in the start position?
Got it fixed, pulled the crank fuse, it was fine, then put it back in, and it started fine. Explain that one

interesting...
Its baaaack.
It is acting wierd, for a while if I jerked on the power cable to the starter, but now no dice. Im gonna have a buddy "warranty" my starter, im thinking it has to be in my solenoid somewhere. When I got it started, at idle, the lights would flicker, like the cable was loose, but it was tight at both ends. I shifted it into gear, and it died completly. Cant get er started at all now

i would see how much resistance i was getting from one end of the cable to the next. thats a trip.
voltage drop is less than .04 of a volt. Got er figured out. Hooked the multimeter up, batt was reading .423 volts. Hmmmmmmm, yeah, prolly time for a new battery.
i gots an idea.... v-8 swap ;)
