i just read the top speed of your 4 cyl. and hear that you can cut a wire on the trans and remove the top speed limiter thingy. also i heard if you put a chip in it then it will raise the cut off at 94mph. i found that the chips on ebay are just6 a resistor that can handle 3200 ohms (s-10 spec) plugged into a connector that bypasses the computer or someting. 1st were is the wire to cut on the tran and how should i cut it, and 2nd should i just try to make my own chip (radio shack has 3200 ohm resistors) or might it hurt my engine.
thanks for the help.

Ive heard of guys cutting them and putting a toggle swich in there. If you cut it, you will have no speedo. But if you have a toggle swich, it will be on when you want it, and if you wana make some sort of a top speed run you can flick it off.

just do the inline switch. and mount it on the little plastic piece on the driver side of the seat. thats what i did. you will however loose Anti Lock Brakes when you do that mod, so only use it where stopping wont be a problem.

Just because you lose the ABS doesnt mean you loose your braking. ABS is an independent system so even if your ABS fails, you will still have conventional brakes. ABS is for sissies anyway. (only because im jealous)

Only works on a manual trans.

yea thats what i meant is you loose abs, still have regular brakes, but evasive manuvers in a truck that your used to having abs could be tricky
