Ok. I have been doing a good bit of thinking about if and when I will do more to my engine. I have a '98 with 99k mi. and will be breakin 100k soon. I had a few things planned out like, headers, cam and possibly a supercharger later on. Baisically the bigger money items. But with 100k on it, do you all honestly think it would be worth it? :confused:

If your engine goes, you can always swap your parts onto the new engine.
On the other hand you might just want to do a v8 swap after the engine goes.
Note most v8 projects dont get completed at all and are a lengthy process. Well for some.

I don't have the time for that. This is my daily driver. If I had a spare vehicle, I would try that. I can go one day without at the most or a weekend without a vehicle.

I have 101K on my motor, i have had a cam since 75K miles or so, and will be supercharged in the next year i hope. As long as the engine is in good condition, has good compression, has been well taken care of, go for it. You can get a slightly used short block for less than a grand if your current engine takes a dump. Mine is a daily also, so that is why i stick with the 4.3.

I sprayed juice on my truck from arount 30,000-40,000 miles up until it was totalled at 90,000 miles. I would always put down a 75 shot and on occassion a 100 shot. I never had any engine problems but I did have some driveshaft issues. The driveshaft might have been caused by other underlying issues though.

i have 130k and wouldn't hesitate for any mod....it if breaks it breaks.....miles don't matter if u take good care of the engine...

Mine has 213k on it and is in tip top shape.I can still burn the tires off it at will.The 4.3 is almost like a smallblock 350,if yo treat it right they will run forever.But any way if it holds good compression,makeing and noise,and isn't using oil or etc. then I wouldn't worry about it at all.
