Tools: Torx screwdriver 15
1/4 inch ratchet with 9/32 socket
1/4 inch extension
Philips screwdriver
DISCLAIMER: Instructions my vary on model (extended cab & quad cab) this procedure was done on a 94 & 95 standard cab S-10
1. Disconnect negative battery cable from battery.
2. Remove the two screws that hold the lens on the third brake light, with the torx screwdriver
3. Remove the bulbs in the fixture
4. Remove the interior dome lamp cover and remove the two screws in the middle of the fixture
5. With the fixture hanging down there are two more screws hidden under the upholstery, to the right and left of where the screws for the dome light go in. You will have to rip the upholstery a little bit to get the socket & extension to remove those screws.
6. This is where it gets tricky, once those screws are out there is a connector attached to the roof under the drivers side upholstery. What I did was put my hand under the upholstery and pulled the connector out of its' sleeve after that the fixture was free to go. Instalation is reverse of removal.
Sorry I dont have pics I should have some up this week My camrea is acting up.
