There is an old addage that says if it isn't broke, don't fix (screw) with something.
Ok that is all fine and dandy but preventative maintenance is of course the best way to avoid most problems you'll face in the future. You got your 3k mi. oil changes, yearly spark plug/wire changes and the occaisional sea foam treatment. That's basic stuff that everyone should do.
After that, I guess you give the shocks a change and have the bushings replaced around 90k or so, replace the control arm (some of the ****y streets I have to drive on to work is killing my suspension and alignment).
With higher mileage engines, what else needs be done? Are engine rebuilds necessary only if you know of a problem or could this be considered one of the things to do? I have heard that it isn't required nor a bad thing.
Opinions?
