isnt that a pretty simple install, dont the GTO's have a 4l60e transmission so all you gotta do is change out ECU, motor, and motor mounts right?, are harness's the same for all electrical?
and the LS1 is an aluminum block right, so it should way about the same as our 4.3L iron block. AWSOME!, if it was me though a t-56 would be going in behind that *****. Nice truck, what does it get city mpg?
NICE!
I would absolutely love to do something like this, but my biggest concern would be the actual cost.
If I may ask, what WAS the final cost?

She does have the T-56 in it. The only way to go IMO! In the city she gets 18 to 21 mpg it lust depends on if your letting the smoke out of the tires or Driving like grandpa.
The truck sits about 3/4-1" higher in the front than with the 4.3 and auto that was in it. I had to install corvette PSP and alt. and notch and box frame for the AC compressor and oil pan but besides that, & custom wire harness i guess you could call it a bolt in.

Ops sorry Badco missed your question.
I payed $6700. for motor and T-56 2703 confimed miles
$1500. on rearend narowed posi 373 with disc
Sanderson shortys cant remember exactly 300?
Wiring harness and computer aprox. 1000 with custom tune.
radiator, electric fans, custom oil pan ++++++++++++ grand total 12,500
I know i lost control over my budget, but its the truck of my dreams.
About how long did it take you to complete it?
just curious

It took me 3 weeks and 3 days from pulling the 4.3 to driving it to the mufler shop for exhaust work. Did it all by my self except for bleading the clutch. could have done it 1 week sooner but made a mistake and trusted ls1performamce to deliver the pan when thay said. Dont lets LS1 Performance suck you in. I have no shop all work done in the driveway.

Hell yeah welcome to the LS1 club bro.And I am very impressed with the install and the limitations you had.Everyone always assumes hmm big horsepower sucky gas mileage. That couldn't be further from the truth when it comes to the LS1.I am far far far from stock and mine cruises pretty good with a total average gas mileage of around 22mpg.Not bad with the power she pounds to the ground.Anyway real nice truck bro.
