I have a 4.3 TBI and I'm planing on geting some headers pretty soon. My question is what is the difference in the flow of the Nickle chrome plated, Vs. Ceramic headers?

if your looking at JBA headers, i would suggest looking at the Edelbrock TI-Tech TES headers, they include teh ypipe and are cheaper than the jba's. as far as coating, the titech is the best offered by Edelbrock. ummm, the better the coating, the more the heat will be retained within the exhaust flow and it also helps prevent rust on the pipes

I'm a full length header guy myself. Buy the Hedmans from Summit for $139. Then have 'em Jet Hot'd. Jet Hot is practically indestructible.

I would get the jet hot for the corrosion resistance, i doubt it makes a huge difference in flow.

I like the idea of using a full length header also, hooker has them too. You can get the hookers direct from summit with the coating on them. There is more modification involved with the long tubes and the rest of the exhaust system unfortunately though.

How much more modification would I be looking at puting full length headers? I was concidering going with the Edlebrock TES with Ti- tech coating with the y pipe kit. http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=eadvsearch.asp&SearchType=Make

You would have to fabricate a new y-pipe, as your stock one isn't going to come close to fitting. That could move your cat back if you have one. Or you could do a dual exhaust if you wanted to replace the whole thing. I think longtubes would be hard to install, as far as getting them in position.

The edelbrocks are a much more bolt in deal, and they come with a new y-pipe.

I've got pics of my full lengths at my Cardomain site.

I don't think there was any way I could cram full lengths into my Xtreme. So I went with the JBA's Ceramic coated of course. Oh and they wanted to burn the **** out of my plug wires/boots... I bought some JBA plug wires and I guess it solved the problem. The truck was destroyed before I could run them for a few thousand miles.

I would do the headmans from summit. Install them first to make sure there is no clearance problems. Then send them out to get coated. You will probably have to dent in one tube a little by the steering shaft for clearance.
