Well I got to mess with a ZO6 tonight.Went out with some friends for a little while and come across a rich boy in a C5 ZO6 that thought he was just gonna smoke him some Fbody tonight.I let him play a fool for a little while.he would race past me a couple of times flooring it then braking for me to catch up.When we stopped at the next light he revved it up to challenge me so I just revved the hell out of mine to let him know I accept.the light turn green and we both hammered down.I pulled past him within the first 50 60 feet and never looked back.I smoked his ass good too.Ohhh did it feel so good to show him just because he has the letters ZO6 doesn't mean he is invincible. When I let him catch up he rolled down th window and started making excuses that he couldn't get traction.l told him we could race from a roll and he said he would but he had to go.Me and my friend just laughed and said OK go tell your pals how you got smoked by car with the letters WS6.He gotted pissed and said F off and took off.Oh was it so much fun.I love vettes and the ZO6 but they are not invincible like some of their owners think.Just thought I would share that.

For a minute I thought this was posted by Jon stating he raced and beat another vehicle obviously better than his little truck, since all I saw was the thread title, and the last reply. LOL. But instead it was an entertaining story by Maximus. Horray, we love you. :p

Nice kill BTW. I hate it when kids think their invincible in "Daddies car"No white00S10 the WS6 is just a package option for the Firebird just like ZO6 is for the Corvette and Z28 is for the Camaro and ZQ8 is for the S10 just to name a few.The WS6 was a preformance package with a few more options that the standard TA had like a better suspension and a few more ponies under the hood.Mine didn't come with a LS2 but the ZL402 in mine is based on the LS2 but stroked out to 402 cubic inches. Here is some info on the engine and heads on mine. SLP ZL402 LS2
402 CID displacement
GM LS2 aluminum 6.0-liter block (includes block plugs)
4.000" Eagle 4340 forged steel crankshaft, balanced to rotating assembly
4.000" Ross 2618 forged alloy pistons with -6.00cc dish (includes new rings and full-float pins)
11:1 compression ratio (nominal; ultimate compression ratio will depend upon heads and gaskets used)
6.125" Eagle H-beam rods
Includes new, factory-installed cam, rod and main bearings.
AFR 225cc/65cc heads
Intake flow up to 304 CFM at .500 lift, 320 CFM at .600 lift @ 28†of H2O.
Exhaust flow up to 250 CFM at .600 lift @ 28†of H2O (using 1-7/8 inch exhaust pipe).
225cc heads with 65cc combustion chamber.
CNC ported intake and exhaust ports, and combustion chambers.
2.080 intake, 1.600 exhaust standard length valves.
3-angle radiused valve job.
7° titanium retainers and valve locks.
1.290 inch double springs, 135 lbs seat, .600 inch maximum lift.
The car has more power than it's able to handle right now.And I just know the rear is gonna blow before to long.Im hoping to get a 12 bolt after the first of the year but I am broke right now after buying the car.If it could handle the power better I know it would be faster than what it is.The drivetrain needs some more work but that will have to wait to.I raced a little tonight to.I raced a stage 3 SRT4 and beat him bad.And I raced a turboed Supra and beat him.The Supra actually gave me a run for my money and was a close race.In a few weeks I am gonna see if I can get some time on the dyno to tune it in a little more.Change up a few things and see what I can get her to do.I hope anyways.

those z06's stock are capable of mid to low 11's so maybe it was traction but he should know how to launch it, and has learned not to f w/ an F-body way to go. If you ever wanna sell that 6.0L i will be 1st in line :)

I forgot to post my reply to that but yeah a C5 ZO6 is one thing I have no problem racing them or any C5 for that matter. But a C6 ZO6 is another question.I would still race one but I sure wouldn't be as confident that I could win.A C5 ZO6 is around 400hp which I have an advantage over but a C6 ZO6 is 500hp which makes the challenge a little more fun lol.But the first chance I get I am gonna race one for sure.My car has been dynoed but I am not gonna give out the numbers till I get to dyno it my self after I have had a chance to tune it.The guy I bought the car off of sure did do things right that's for sure.I saw him the other day because I had to pick up some more documents on the car for insurance reasons and he has already started on another project with a 03 black Silverado SS.He plans on twin turbo charging it with a shot of nitrous on top of that.He wants to have a 9 second truck by spring and I have no doubt he will be there. He is a cool cat with one of the nicest garages not found in a shop I have ever seen.
A friend of mine, Adam Iams, his dad owns the Iams dog food company, but he did this all on his own. He owns a pontiac trans am, he got it in 12th grade with his own money, he added new exhaust, suspension, and supercharger, with other features, he hit around 445 hp. Last month he took the whole engine apart, bored out cylinders new pistons, and just about everything else, he put on 2 turbos, of course hidden from view, and many other things that i have no clue about. There is no car in Kansas that can beat him on street, drag, or autocross. The car has over 900 horses now, maybe 1000, 1-2 mile per gallon, it is a beast. I live exactly 1.3 miles away from his house (gps) when he starts it up at night I can hear it, it is crazy. So if all of you are getting bored with smoking c5's and c6 vettes then go to him, he'll show ya what raw american horsepower can do.

Sweet. I started to post the bs flag, then I read who's thread it was. Your T/A has got to have more low end then a C5 Z06, they're high strung. I wish I could have seen the look on his face when he saw your taillights:cloud: :Slam_anim

The SLP block is what makes the package. If it was just the stock LS1 then that would be a different story. But I love a good challenge. With this nice weather we have had lately I have been out burning up the tires having fun wishing it was spring.

The nitrous will help quiet a bit with the turbo lag. It will help to spool the turbo's much faster. He must know what he is doing. I would love to see that setup and a dyno run.
What?^^^^
I was posting to what maximus posted about the guy he got his car from. Sorry.
ahhhhh! no further questions

Volkswagen 2.8 engine specs-200hp @ 6200rpm and 195tq @ 3200rpm.I think that is one heavy breathing little engine to take serious.I wouldnt mind having a turbo diesel Golf for some good fuel economy. They have great torque and realy good fuel economy.

Actually I don't consider Volkswageen rice since they are made in Germany. That and Germany is well known for putting out some damn nice cars.Look at Porsche,BMW,Mercedes-Benz,Audi,and Volkswagen to name a few.I raced a 911 the other day that gave me one hell of a run for my money.

I spanked a 03 Cobra about a month ago. Not in my truck but in my car, I have a nearly mint condition 83 280 zx turbo, t3/t4e hybrid composit ball bearing turbo, ic, and fmu is all what I have done to it. I can control boost inside my car I peaked at 18.7psi when I spanked him. That was on pump gas. I have had it at 24psi on racing gas. That car is a real sleeper. The guy did not know what happened to him.

Sweet
just imagine if he put what somebody put investment wise into you car... into his car.....
you're running super modified version of basically the same setup that is in that vette minus the goodies. that was the great part of the f-body, it's a poor mans corvette. same engine less lovin'.
i wonder how you'd do against a hopped up syclone or typhooon....? what do ya think?
Maximus

I have raced Syclones and Typhoons and I have won most but lost a few.Modified ones and stock both. One of them I got beat with was running low 10's so I didn't feel bad when I lost to him at all.The turboed engine combo isn't what gives me the most problems with them. It's the AWD that it is a huge obstacle to overcome.Traction isn't a issue for them at all.Even with sticky tires that brief period of traction loss just gives them that much time to get a lead on me.So from there it's catch up from the get go.I mean let's face it they are a very superbly designed vehicle.Good engine platform, turbo charged, and AWD is a great combo.I had a chance to buy one and passed it up.As awesome a truck as they are I just can't see paying the bringing price they get.But I don't blame those who do.
