What oil to use

I have a 99 s10 blazer with a 123K miles and am curious what Valvoline oil to use. There is one that is Max Life Synthetic but do i really need syntheic on my truck? I have gibson headers, K&N fipk, and a flowmaster so let me know what you guys think. I aslo have a 2006 Equinox that I am going to do its first oil change what oil do you guys recommend. I am thinking valvoline but don't know what to put in it. There are many oils at valvoline so let me know what oil should I use for the Equinox. Thanks a lot

I use plain ol' Valvoline 20W-50. The race cars get Valvoline GT1 Racing 50w.

The heavy weight costs me about .5 mpg over the 10W-30 but the extra protection is worth it for me.

My newer vehicles get the 10W-30 but they're under 100k miles. Once I hit 100k I switch to 20W-50.
