just do airbags....why are u lifting a 2wd?
You have 2 choices, Spindles or Coil Springs for lift... the only kit that I am familar with is the one from Fabtech...
Fabtech Lifts avalible from JCWhitney:

Yeah what would be wrong with lifting a 2 wheel drive, if you'd want bigger tires on your 2 wheel drive then how else are you gonna get them on there bcuzz I try to put 15s on the front and they rub a lil lil bit and I have thoguht about getting a 2 inch lift for them, But im noy really worried about it because they don't rub that much...

Kinda like a Pre-runner, TrailHead or DesertRunner. Just needs the clearance, look or hobby. Hehehe.

this is an old thread i just came across but if ur still looking why not just go with the fabtech front spindles and rear shakles? thats good for 3" of lift and if you really want more i know where to get a really good set of long arms for the front that will give you another 3" :)

hello everyone. i hope someone can help me out.i have a 98 2wd ext sonoma and i want to put on a lift kit.(i've done the 3"/4" drop before and was dissappointed:( ). i have looked at a bunch of differnt sites but dont really know what to look for. i know i want a 2" body lift and im thinking of a 5.5" or 6" suspension. i've seen pics on dezertdimes.com and bajacustoms(very cool). i want to put on a big enough lift to clear 33x12.50r15? and still want to be able to drive it daily. any ideas what the best route to take would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also lookin for a lift for my 97 reg cab. Im gettin a 2 body lift. i would like to run 32s. I have been look at fabtech and im not sure if it will give me enough lift. Im not sure about a long travel suspension. I want it to still be a daily driver. would addin new coils to the fabtech with a spring over in the rear be a good rought?

If you got the fabtech kit with the spindles, coils, and UCA's. With a 2" body lift and a rear axle flip then 33's might fit. It will be a close one ill tell you that.

With the fabtech stuff and rear axle flip alone might be able to fit 32's so i don't think you will have a problem.

sorry to bring up a some what 2 &1/2 month old thread but i am wanting to lift my 2wd....
yes im on dezertdimes awesome place...but im wanting to go BIG!!
i found a kit to lift 6 inches and i want to get up to 9 inches or more...
enough to clear 18x9 rims and 35 inch tires...im thinking making a lifted 1st gen show truck...i can't help myself...i dream of it every night i see it in my mind but i need to figure out how to get it there...lol
im wanting to set up some dual shock hoops for the front and mabe a SOA for the rear and fit some rear traction arms "Trac Links"
big dreams but im not sure if it's gonna be possible...i also just seen some air ride lifts like the kelderman kits that i envy...
mabe i just need to put the 1st gen's body on a fullsize frame or something...lol

you could find a used long travel front end and use 1/2 ton truck springs and i think that lifts it a pretty good amount with spindles, and you would probably have to do a 2 or 3 inch body lift, you would most likely have some rubbing of the tires. For the rear probably the axle flip and maybe a 1.5" lift shackle.
