View Full Version : Sounds cool, but it cant be good.
When it is cold out, (usually freezing or below) and my truck kicks into open loop, it tends to lope. It sounds cool as hell, but im concerned, because I dont have a cam, rockers, etc. Whats up?

Any codes when this happens and is there any smells?

No biggie, mine does the same. It sounds like only 4 or 5 cylinders are firing...but then again i have cam and stuff...
BEFORE this new motor the idle would go up and down when it was cold...always did it when cold.

Do you have any problems with throttle response or loss of power or anything if not I wouldn't worry to much about it.Mine has a slightly ruff idle when it warms up but it's the IAC.I have been meaning to clean it but just haven't got around to it.

If it doesn't occur during the warm-up cycle, I'd say a 195 t-stat will get rid of it.
