An L98 would be the same as any other small block V8. What engine are you starting with? If you have a 4.3 less mods will be needed because a 4.3 is a small block missing two cylinders. No firewall mods should be needed for a small block

yes it is a 4.3L, so all i need is the engine or motor mounts? anything else you could suggest to make the swap easier?

thanks alot,

the motor mounts are the same. What trans are you planning on running, what fuel system. You also will want to upgrade you cooling system with a bigger raditior and electric fans becasue you will not have room for a clutch style fan

I have done a L98 TPI 350 swap and it's not as cut and dry as you might think. The S10 I swapped was originally a 4 banger.I ordered a lot of stuff on line for that swap.I used the tranny, engine, wiring harness, and ecm out of the donor Camaro to.It was a good swap that I had a lot of fun with. And the truck is still running strong now except it is running with a 75 shot to.The TPI swap was a good swap because of the amount of aftermarket parts available for the TPI.The engine was used for so long that there are plenty of parts for them to.Make sure it's a 350 and not a 305.there have been plenty of shady people try and sell them off as 350's to people who don't know any better. There are plenty of books about the small block swap in to the S10 even covering the TPI engines.Another good place to go is V8 S10 boards. There are usually plenty of people on there who have done the swap. The L98 is a great engine that can be built to make some serious power and the TPI is one of the best fuel injection systems ever made.

i second going with the TPI. If you already have TBI you can even use the same engine harness with a few mods. I am curently making a S-10 TBI harness into a TPI harness for my blazer

Our TBI is a speed density system and the TPI came both as speed density and as a MAF system.I prefer speed density but that's just me.
