I just finished putting on another throttle plate that I cut off the EGR diffuser......I also did the EGR mod that I had to do some searching to find out how to do......

My 2002 Sonoma 2wd had an internal EGR set up so when I did a CFM Technologies throttle plate I did not have to so the EGR mod.

My 01 Sonoma Highrider has the external EGR so I cut off the diffuser plate from my 02 (hey why spend another $40 for the one from CFM Tech when I had an extra one)......used a dremel and cut the diffuser off and then cleaned up the edges.....I left the rivets in place.......

I cleaned the throttle body very well as there was alot of carbon built up.....when I would 1st start up the truck the gas pedal was sticking just as you put pressure on the pedal.....cleaning the throttle body cured that......nice and smooth now.

I know there is quite a bit of debate wether to do both mods but it worked very well on the 02 Sonoma that I traded in.
My 01 Highrider seems to idle smoother and accelerates easier as well.......took the truck for a short ride and no SES light.....I'll keep an eye on it to see if I have to drill the 1/8" a tad bigger to stop the SES light if it comes on.

So far after having the Highrider for a few weeks I have done the following:
K&N Gen II (from my 02 Sonoma)
B&M Shifter plus (from my 02 Sonoma)
Throttle plate mod
EGR mod
Put my 12 disc CD changer in (from my 02 Sonoma)
Carbon fiber taillights(from my 02 Sonoma)
Tonneau cover (from my 02 Sonoma)
It already had the bug gaurd/window vents and Rhino liner on along with Backcountry step tubes.
The last thing is I'm waiting on my exhaust......I ordered a Dynomax Ultraflow system from Summit......they are special order for the Highrider/ZR-2 4 wheel drive truck......the system is a 2.5" single in/single out.
On my 02 Sonoma I had a custom made 2.5" single in/single out with a Flowmaster 40 on it....sounded good but wanted to try something a different.

I'll probably also the flamed gauge backdround on the truck as well......I really liked them on the 02 Sonoma.

To sum it up........the throttle plate/EGR were well worth the time and $4.00 I spent on 2 EGR gaskets for the "butt dyno" power that feels like when I had my 02 2wd Sonoma. http://www.s10forum.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
