How have you had fun with your blazer?

alright ill start off this post

there is a trail by my school that has deep deep mud crevices, i had been in there before when it was dry and almost bottomed out on some places, but i have skid plates so that dont matter to much. It rained about 2 inches one day and me and my gf were drivin around and decided to go up there. I role onto the first part of mud immediately getting stuck in 2 wheel drive, so i put it in 4 high and gunned it into the first trenches. Mud was thrown all over my truck, as all wheels were spinning, i could have gone slow and not spun the tires but thats no fun. i hit a trench about 2 feet deep and bounded over it, i can hear my skid plates smackin the ground, but i don't think anything of it because i know it can handle it. i do some donuts, plowing down about 30 or 40 tiny trees that looked like christmas trees. haha **** you tree huggers! the trail continues back going through about 5 huge telephone wire/ electricity poles, this is where i slow down because u only have about 5 inches on either side, and i finally get to where the trail ends, i do a 180 donut and start heading out, i hit the 3 foot deep mud hole this time and splattered mud all over my windshield, i pull onto the road and gun it, both tires filled with mud and sliding everywhere ( i went back to 2wd) the mud is literally shooting off the tires and my blazer. I decided to go wash off my car before i got home at one of the high powered jet do it urself cleaning places. People were laughing as i pulled up, i had over 6 inches of mud in some places, my side steps were completely filled, and after i got all the mud off (30 quarters later) i was off, leaving behind about 300 pounds of mud.
Is that mean?

I used to do that all the time in my suburban, but it didnt take 30 quarters to clean it, it took 20 bucks. Thats a lot of quarters. Funny thing was, I knew the kid that had to clean the pits at the car wash, he would always ***** about some asshole leaving a ton of mud in his car wash, i would just laugh

My Blazer is a lowered 2-wheel drive so my fun is on the road. I get to drive it to work everyday!!

getting down and dirty is one of my fav past times. In the spring me and my bro went out on the logging roads to see what we could find. He point's out this old winter road and I figure why not. Well long story short we get in and it is nothing but a clay bed. all four star spinning like we are on a sheet of ice. The funny part was watching my bro slip and slide while hooking up the winch. That's what he gets for pointing us in there lmao.

Uwharrie National Forest in NC... Basically stock at this time and running the trails with much bigger trucks. :D Screwed up a tie-rod on this hill climb and still drove it 200 miles home.

Nice bull bar/push bar Tink! Is that custom?

I always take my 5 and 6 year old boys with me on the backroads and oil lanes. They love when we get home and it is all muddy. My six year old is real handy at cleaning the underside and the wheels. I plan on going to ATTICA, IN when I get my 94 done.
SAND DUNES + V8 S10 = FUN, FUN, FUN.

Thanks... that is the old Baja bumper off my 89 S10 Baja (pic in my avatar is the Baja).

That is awesome that your boys love 4 wheeling and great that they help you clean it up! :)

Great OR story man.
Does it still stink of burning mud? I had the smell for days until I put it on ramps and used the old mans pressure washer.

Yeah I have abused my Jimmy but I know she likes it. I spend alot of hours under it working on it and doing minor and somewhat major stuff to it so you have to enjoy it. People shake their heads and wonder why i do that to my vehicle, but why did they line the bottom with skid plates then?...lol I go 4 wheelin all the time and I love my vehicle I am in the process of lifting it a bit I got stuck twice and both times because the frame was laying on the ground. Other than that it is unstoppable. I just put a street fx muffler on, a flowmaster rip off, and I cannot beleive the performace that i gained. I also added a k&n air filter...wow. I have pics but I cannot post them they are files not url links. I always document my fun! Love this site also.

Peace,
Don

Just this weekend I took the lil blazer muddin'. She's stock though, so it got a little scary at times. I was impressed at how capable the S-10 Blazer is in it's stock form! I thought for sure I was gonna roll it at one point in time, slipping down an incline too fast at all the wrong angles. No problems though. Borrowed my pops, pressure washer and made short work of the 300 or so pounds of clay-like mud on the underside of the truck.

Hey the newest fun I've had recently is driving through the snow here in Western New York. driving around the southern suburbs of Buffalo with 3-4 feet of snow is great. I drive through it like its nothing. 4 Wheel Drive kicks @ss!!! the only thing that sux is the plow guy who took the fun away. now I'm using Parking lots to have fun drifting (power sliding), donuts, and ramming through small snow banks. HOOAH! hahaha }: )
