I want an aftermarket differential cover, and a ring and pinion set for my truck, but I keep going round and round with everyone on which ring gear size I have. I believe it's a 8.2 or 8.5, but the dealership keeps throwing a 7.625 at me. Is there any difinitive way to know. None of the RPO codes show the size and I can't find what my SPO codes mean anywhere. I do know I have the GU6 3.42:1 gears and the G80 locker. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks in advance for your help.look at the shape of the diff. cover, if it's round, then it's an 8.5, if it's kinda square, then it's the 7.625
Didnt the G80 only come in the 8.5?

Well it's a 7.625 anyone know if the Summit cover with bearing cap supports for a 7.5 will work? I believe Tony (SSONNOS) had one on his so i'm thinking it will work. I'm surprised that the rear end has held up. I figured with the abuse I put it through it would have to have been the 8.5. That's what I get for figuring.

7.5 and 7.625 are the same rear cover.
