My blazer has a pretty good size oil leak i lost about a quart in 50 miles. I think it is leaking from around the remote oil lines, is this common. It is getting pretty bad i looked under it and i had oil all the way back to the transfer case and the tranny pan was coated in oil pretty good. How hard is it to change the gaskets on the block adapter, this is where i think it is leaking from

This same thing is happening to me. I don't know what's causing it. I put about a quart in every week. I've recently stopped because the motor swap is coming up and I don't care about my worthless 2.8L. I've heard they can be alright but all of the ones I've had(2) are terrible. When I floor it...it stalls, when I put on the brakes too hard...it stalls, if I'm not giving it any gas...it stalls. But I wish I knew why my oil pan, transmission and 2 crossmembers are covered with motor oil.

It has been quite a while since I did that on my 89, but it is super easy. Shouldn't take long at all. I changed them out when I did an oil change. I actually bought all new lines when I did mine... bought the whole kit from GM. Mine was also seeping at the lines near the filter though. I'm not sure where you can just get the gaskets.

If it is a 2WD, eliminating the oil lines is an option. Remove the adapter plate at the block, take the double male from the adapter plate, screw it in the block, presto, no more oil cooler. Radiator is cheaper also.

If you havent already checked the bolts that hold the adaptor ,check them,if they are tight you can get the oring kit from GM..
