Window sealer??

Does anybody know where I could get the sealer for my windshield and LH & RH back glass? If you look on the inside of the window you see this black gummy looking stuff. What's it made out of and where can I get it? Is it urethane? I'm getting my blazer painted probably within the next month and I'm taking out all the glass and replacing the weatherstripping. And I'm doing it on my own. I'm know it's used on most car glass but I can't find it.

Could it be just that weatherstripping adhesive stuff? That's kinda what it looks like....I have no idea though

THe black "gummy" stuff is the glue that they use to mount the glass to the body. If the weatherstripping (the actual stuff that wraps around the glass) is in good shape, dont worry about the glue. Most glass shops wont charge much to remove and reinstall the glass.

No the outside weatherstripping is terrible. The glue is fine.

My mom works and at Pilkingotn Wholesale Glass co or something like that and she to call this number to the Mobile AL service center they will hook you up. 800-284-7995, they should be able to take care of you if that is too far then Huntsville shops number is 256-722-8600, if not then Birmingham's number is 800-548-3572. Windsheild should take 2 tubes and 1 for each quarter glass, and the standard caulking gun from home depot wont work you need something with more strength. my mom said that if you havent done this before you should really pay for it. and you will also need a primer to make the urethane adhere and make sure you use the same brand primer and urethane.

yes primer is a MUST. I used to work in a glass shop last year, and put windows in everything from lexus's to h2's.
