distributer problems

I have a 93 s10 blazer with a 4.3 CPI it was just replaced. It has had a miss in the motor it sounded like a miss do to timiming so i adjusted the timing. after i did that the motor ran good for about 30 miles now it wont idle so i set it back to were the timing was and it still runs like ****. Could the distbuter be bad?

Did you unplug the "brown" wire when you set the timing?

^^^if you dont unplug the brown wire (inside the cab under the passengerside carpet on the floor/firewall)the timing wont be right

yes i did unplug the wire for the timing advance that wasnt the problem i took the distributer out today the pickup coil was shot so i replaced the distributer oh well its a new moteor so i hope it lasts
