Hi,all...another old codger here,I'm 46 AND from Alabama.(double whammy).Working on my first S10 project and I'm probably gonna have to lean on you guys as I go along. To let you know where I'm at...I'm working on a 1989 S10 blazer.Previously a 4.3 TBI.Am swapping in a 350 TBI.In a way I got lucky with the motor but in a way I got the shaft.Depends on how you look at it.I bought the motor under the assumption it was a running 305 that was in good shape and was told I could just put it in and shouldn't have any problems with it. Cost me $250.00.There is no way I would go through all this work and not have a peek inside first.Turns out it is a 350 4-bolt that would have never started had I put it in as it had blown gaskets ,cylinder rust, and some furry thing living inside. So far ,I've had the machine work done on the block, which included a .040 bore on the cylinders, new pistons, align bore, cam bearings, and deck milled.Rotating parts are all currently being balanced and should have them back next week.Meanwhile,I've removed the old 4.3,removed all steering and suspension parts, sanded, cleaned and painted the frame, cleaned and painted all parts, replaced all bushings and ball joints and reassembled steering and suspension.I bought an exchange 700r transmission with the B&M shift kit installed and set for a towing type shift as this will be my daily driver. So far I have about $1200.00 in the project and don't even have the motor together yet.I'm sure I'll have tons of questions although I feel I have researched this project very well.I plan on keeping the a/c,cruise,and serpentine setup and will probably go with the Flex-a-lite 220 fan set-up.I'm wide open for suggestions and comments and please bear with me and we'll get through this. Will post pictures as they come available.Thanks,guys.

I don't think I'm gonna come out too cheap. So far I have about 900.00 in the motor alone.Still haven't paid for balancing, head work, cam, lifters, oil pump, etc.Gonna be a pretty hefty bill by the time it's ready to go in.Exchange trans hasn't been paid for yet either.I'm expecting around 3 grand to finish project.Hope I'm not too far off base.

I say welcome as well. I think you will really enjoy that V8 in the Blazer. I had an '89 with a ZZ3 that gave me wood when it launched!
