Probably means a 283. That would be a good starter motor if you arnet looking for some crazy power or anything. As far as what you will need for the swap, go to www.v8s10.com and click on the S10 V8 link. THe prices are the best you can find anywhere on good parts. I bought my radiator from them and it looks like a quality unit. (havent gotten it in yet) Post up anymore questions you might have, or hit me up on one of my three messengers if you have any questions about the swap.

I didnt read the whole thing through. As far as motormounts see above. Trans you COULD use your stock trans, but it wont be strong enough to hold much power. Look for a T-5 out of a 3rd gen camaro, you should be pleased with it.

buy the book from JTR "jags that run". it will tell you how to use your stock tranny, but not recommended. i have a t-5 in my truck and you have to use the t-5 bellhousing because off the offset on the tranny. the book has most all your answers. plus it has templates for motor mounts to make your own.
