Hi! I traded in my old 1996 2 door Blazer 4WD on a 2004 BlaZeR2 back in May 2004. It has been a decent truck so far; outside of some cost cutting measures that have actually eliminated some goodies the 'ole 96 had and cheapened some of the stuff that remains...

I have lurked here from time to time. I recently posted a GP on http://www.zr2.com (http://www.zr2.com/) for leather seats and posted the link here http://www.s10planet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4900 . Anyway, I will see you guys around on here as I try to correct the things GM screwed up (like the seat materials)...

Chuck

I actually ordered my truck new two years ago. This Blazer has a bunch of annoying things that were never issues with my former 1996...

It was easy to address a few simple design problems early on. I added body side moldings to save the unprotected doors. I also added Husky mud guards and then cut extensions to prevent road rash (my 1996 rusted badly from salt damage).

After one year of ownership, the gold bowtie nearly fell off. I went to Mr. Goodwrench and got them to replace it under warranty with the red bowtie from the SS (I think). I think it looks cool, and was a PnP change.

The rear hatch latch is hanging up. The rear washer was not working (since I first noticed around the holidays) until today. I decided to fix it while it was 17 degrees out... stupid me. At least it does work again. I think after trying to lubricate the rear latch, I will have to again exersize my warranty and let Mr. Goodwench deal with it.

As for serious mechanical stuff, the truck is fine. The motor loves the Mobil 1 in it's crankcase and the 4WD is working awesome in the white stuff... gotta love the extra room underneath :) .

Welcome to the Planet!

You are from my old stompin grounds... I moved South in 2002.

I love the SS bowtie... too bad the old one fell off, but good change.

Welcome ,nice blazer man your pics make me nostalgic, mine also had it's share of issues,I do miss it though,it was the most comfortable truck I've owned it had a trans issue though felt like a 4cyl most of the time no power after bringing it to the dealer too often and chasing water leaks that made the interior smell like a junkyard dog and finding rust spreading under the paint on the tailgate I bailed Im back to rebuilding old iron
