View Full Version : 95 s-10 questions...
Hey,
I got a 95 Chevy Extra cab S-10 with the 4.3L Z engine with Fabtech 3.5 lift with 3" spindles and a 2" body (3.71 rear end), and it's been sitting for almost 3 years and I need a few things since it will be my daily driver agian.
Question 1:
Seats, the out side fabric is still good and clean, but the foam has split on the side where you get in and out and the zig zag springs have cut into the Foam where your butt goes.
I'm considering all new seats and need so suggestions for what manufacturer and what type to get.
Or possible just get new foam.
Question 2:
Front brakes. I got the ABS light that's been on since I parked it. The put new brake pads on it and all new bearings but the driver side front doesn't seem to roll as good as the passenger side. After removing the calipers, it spun ok. So I think the calipers are bad and I'm looking for a good replacement Brake kit.
Any suggestions of where to look and what manufacture?
Question 3:
Electric fan...Since I move to the Phoenix area I haven't drove this truck much, but in the Summer the clutch fan drives me NUTS!! I want a Electric fan kit. What kit do you guys recommend?
I have other questions that can wait. These are issues I want to fix first so any suggestions, links and ideas will be VERY HELP FULL

First off, welcome to the site.
1) Your best (cheepest) bet would to probably to find some seats from a salvage yard. I know a lot of guys like the camaro buckets. I pulled my buckets out of my roommates 85 s10
2) On the brakes. I cant think right now about what might be setting off your abs light, but on the calipers, when you put new pads on, did you make sure you removed the resivor cap when you pushed the piston back in on them? A lot of times people will add fluid, then when new pads are put on, there is too much fluid. Just a thought
3) Nother salvage yard find. The Ford Taurus E Fan is a great mod to do on our trucks. Rlith did a great writeup on it and it can be found in our "How-To" section. I believe the flow numbers are really high and are competitive with aftermarket fans out there, and most taurus fan swaps can be done for less than 100, fan and parts.
Hope some of this helps, and im sure a few people on here will chime in too.

Thanks for the Welsome!!
1) I'm willing to spend a little money to get good seats. Is there any aftermarket ones that will bolt right up?
2) I removed the resivor cap when I pushed back the calipers. I'm considering aftermarket one or just replacing them with stockers. I would prefer aftermarket ones sinec I'm running 31's and could use some extra power.
3) I will look into the Taurus fan kit.
After I get these issues resolved, I'm looking into getting a TBI spacer, pullies and even an exhaust. ANy ideas or suggestion...good or bad???
Thanks!!
Check out ssbc for brake upgrades. I dont care if you wanna go cheep or expaensive, camaro seats are great upgrades. They have side bolsters, (t/a, seats) and you cang et them in leather too!
Thanks T Man.
Well I might go with stock brakes in stead of pricey($389) aftermarket ones.
But I'm having problems find a Taurus fan. I've been in every junk yard and place I can think of, but I found this one..http://http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=egnsearch.asp&N=115+-59080+-59827+-42541 (http://http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=egnsearch.asp&N=115+-59080+-59827+-42541)
Will that one work?
OK, I'm also looking to get more mileage out of mine and make it run a bit better. I have a K&N Filter, but it's just the one that sits on top of the Throttle bod. They don't make a cold air one for my 95...I don't know why?
But in the summer it's get in the 110's or even above and I have been considering running the stock one just to get some air that is not as hot as what’s under the hood.
But I’ve been considering these and wanted some opinions on if they work.
Throttle body spacer, there are a bunch of them out there and I want the one that will work the best. I have found these...
Air Raid:

Motorvation: Looks like air raid..

Trans-dapt: This one looked to open it up more?
http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=partdetail.asp&part=TRD-2634&FROM=MG (http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=partdetail.asp&part=TRD-2634&FROM=MG)
Also this pulley set:

Then some exhaust items.
Catalytic converter:

Exhaust:

Then get a chip: This seems to be the only one I can find who makes it for my truck..
http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=partdetail.asp&part=HYP-353322&FROM=MG (http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=partdetail.asp&part=HYP-353322&FROM=MG)
Sorry for all the links and question. but your help is appreciated!!!
Not trying to must make sales, but I have a throttle body spacer that will fit a 4.3 TBI for sale (check the sig) All tb spacers will be the same, if they have sprial cut grooves it doesnt do anything for ya.
I'll take it. You take Pay Pal?
What about the exhaust, pulley's and chip? Would you recomend?
I still need some seats...I can't find them any where. All the junk yard ones are nasty.
IS there any place online to find Camero seats or S-10 seats? Or seat that will work?
Shoot me an email and we can discuss the TB spacer. There are 2 places i can think of for seats: one is of course ebay, and the other is www.carpart.com
Thanks T Man. I already bought a TBI spacer and its been installed for 3 4 days...:)
I'll check those out for seats!
Thanks!! :skull_125:skull_125
