What year is it? Injection?

I don't think you can get a whole lot more bore out of the 305 block. I would probably stick some nice flowing heads on it, but keep the port volume as small as possible if you want to keep some low end. Intake manifold depends on what you plan on doing with it.

Edit, what stroke did the 305 have? Was it the 350 stroke with a small bore?

There used to be a stroker kit for a 305. Made it a 343 if I remember right.
A decent cam, headers with exhaust, ignition system would make it perform well enough.
The 305 was never really that popular with enthusiasts. Still not a bad swap for a dime tho.

305 = 3.740" x 3.48" (Gen.I, 5.7" rod)

i would start out with a holley 600 four barrel carb and a good intake, have the heads ported and polished. 86 should be carbed ???? i think??? well my 87 lg4 was

Fuel injection started in 87 on fullsize trucks. This is a Jasper Motor though correct? Basically you can do what you want with it. Switch intakes and throw a carb on there, youve got a carbed motor to drop in. Throw a TPI manifold on there and you have a decent EFI to throw in.. Thre are a few more steps than this, but you get the idea.

I hope to order rods and pistons next friday or saturday and to switch to tpi you dont have to switch heads, but I would for a set of better flowing ones.
