Well I got my 91 S10 a couple of weeks ago. My dash lights and dome light don't work so I figured that was just the dimmer switch was bad which I haven't had time to check. The fuse is good and there is power at the fuse. But no power at the bulbs??? Also my girl was following me today and noticed I didn't have any brake lights. I have running lights and turn signals. There is power at the fuse again. But there is no power to the brake light switch on the pedal. Is there something in between the two I need to look at? Any help would be great. I mean I bought the truck for 300 I knew it would have some problems so this doesn't bug me. I just want to fix it. I searched and could only find things for the second gen S10. So if any of you S10 guru's out there could help me I would be very thankful.

For the dashlights, there is a ground on the drivers side on the side of the truck up under the dash. When my dash lights would cut out that was the problem. I found it by turning my lights on and rooting around under my dash till i saw it sparking. Is there no power whatsoever at the brake petal switch? If so ill bet there is a broken wire between the switch and the fuse.

On a related note, When my brake is on and my hazzards are on the hazzards stay on constantly. Take my foot off the brake they work fine. Any ideas? Ive got today off so I would like to fix it today as well as get my backup lights wired and my neutural shut off switch wired on my shifter. (Sparky, ive lost the wiring diagram. Would you mind sending it to me again?)

Back-up lamp wire color is light green. You're gonna want to use a relay to carry the current of the purple starter wire.

Also, sounds like a bad hazard flasher. Try swapping out with the turn flasher and see if that fixes it.

Hazzard flashers... (thinks of the dukes of hazzard and thing that might be a bad thing)

Nah. The B&M switch can handle an amp. Both back-up lamps are around that and only for short periods.
