...Newbie here checkin the place out from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, where it's currently a balmy 9 degrees! the warmest weather we've had since September! (gtfo) Anyway, thought I'd just share with ya's my two rust buckets; 91 Sonoma SLE and 95 S10. Bought them both when I was 18.
My plan is once I'm done school in June and gone to work in the Anthabaska oil sands in Alberta, I would like to pick up a later model S dime or slowma reg cab stepside thats loaded (a/t/c/pm/pw/srw/etc.), then have an Air Ride setup along with the 3.8L intercooled turbo out of a wrecked 86 T Type.
I'm very happy to find a decent forum and hope to meet all of you'z. Here's a couple ugli pics of some ugli rides. -Ty

Right now I'm just finishing the pre-employment refrigeration @ air conditioning course offered at red river college, but know some people who work for trans west, ledcor etc., who are pulling my crank to come out there for work. If I were to leave province, I would just work a typical job until I find a good place to do my apprenticeship with. (I also love the tradesmen's northern allowances!!)

I only had that cap on for 2 weeks when I camped in NW Ontario. Looked like perfectionist crap but I guess it got the job done, all I kept in there was some camping stuff and my empties anyway.:D
Back to business, I know almost NOTHING about doing the swap (I'm still just a punk kid), other than the basics like getting the computer, etc. This would be my first engine swapped vehicle, but I'd be farming out all the electrical to my boss. He is the previous owner of a green 87 T type, who sold it to his best friend to add to his collection. I might be useful for the physical end of it all.
I was originally going to ditch the 2.2 and put it in the '95, but decided to put it in a vehicle that deserves it. I already know that I will have hood clearence issues, but I guess that's what cowl hoods are for!
Your biggest problems will be with the exhaust. S10s (1st gens anyway) have a TON of room under the hood. You are also gonna get a bunch of crap from people saying that it would be easier to swap a small block. Where this is true, it wouldnt be nearly as cool as a turbo 3.8

yeah, agree with the exhaust for sho. I expect many wrenches to be a thrown across the garage when that time comes.thx
