v8 cherokee

last night i raced a v8 cherokee.....kept up with him....it was really even....me and my brother were in my truck.....that is 630lbs. of person...they was only 1 guy in the cherokee..i was very pleasantly surprised....i didn't think i stood a chance...

yes it was.....we raced from a roll and from a dead stop....kept up both times

i had a 2000 grand cherokee and from a dead stop my s10 couldnt touch it or even off the line...i had the 4.7 HO overland edition...those things are no joke....but my mom has 2001 grand cherokee limited with the reg 4.7 and i still dont think my s10 would keep up with it as well.. i'm not trying to burst any bubbles or anything just i personally owned and driven a v8 grand cherokee, from experience i know they're pretty quick. are there any mods to your truck???

how close were u and how fast did u guys get up to?

we went from a dig till about 80 and i kept up with him every step of the way

could of been a older 5.2 v8

Ive driven pretty much all the Cherokee models. The 4.0 2WD is the most impressive from 1st to 2nd......after that its a pig. The 4wd and 4.0 just seems much slower all the time. I drove a Quadra-Trac which is full time 4wd and a Selec-Trac which is both 2wd and 4wd settings. The 4wd on them is heavy it seems. The 5.2 to me drove like a 4.0 with worse gas milage. Seemed to have more umph off the line but not much better in the upper end than the 4.0 had. The 4.7 seems like a better comprimise. Had more top end along with decent off-line.

never asked him whihc v8 he had.....just assumed it was a 4.7

the 4.7's were actually a motor designed with chrysler and mercedes...pretty quick...good kill for the s10....go bowtie go!!
