Check Gauges WTF?

My check gauges light turned on a couple of hours ago.. Was idling and it came on. I figured it would go off when the truck got turned off....nope. All my gauges work, odometer is fine, nothing is reading wrong...Whats going on?

My Dime did that one day when I was almost overheating, all it is is a light that comes on to say hey look at your guages, something is out of tolerance.

I have a 180 stat in the truck replacing the 210 one that was in there. IM not even up to 210

I had a 180 in there too, I'll check the weather there when I get into work today and see if that could have anything to do with it

You have gas in it? How is the oil pressure?

Full tank of gas, 40 psi. 14.5 volts, 195deg. Odometer, speedometer, and the short mileage counter were all rolling correctly. Turn on the lights, check my signals, brights, etc. All work.

Those ck. gauges lights are famous at popping on for no reason.

As stated above, supposed to come on with low fuel level, oil pressure, high temp or high/low voltage.

ITS STILL ON!!! I went out to the store, and it came back on even after the truck had cooled down.

Well, yours only comes on for temp and oil pressure. Looks like you could have a bad sender and the gauge could still read good. This should help diagnose;
