well first off, im new to THIS site, but ive been a member on a couple other forums for a year or two now so i know how to use the search button. lol

anyway i have an 87 s10. i bought if off a buddy about a month ago and havent been able to title or plate it due to lack of funds. i just started a new job so i need to get it road worthy.

my buddy owned this truck prior to me so i know how he treated it and i got a hell of a deal on it.

my problem is an ignition piece right behind the steering wheel. im not sure what its called so bear with me on this. the ign. lock/cylinder slides into the steering column and there is a little circular black piece that has teeth around it, i have a new one and that is easy to replace, BUT, the straight metal piece that sits on top of that one with the teeth on it needs replacing, the teeth are gone on it. i have a new one i picked up from a local junk yard BUT i wasnt able to view the assembly or disassembly because it was already ripped apart... i also believe that the piece i need to replace is connect to a meatal rod, if that helps identifying it at all. thats for all the help in advance

You my friend are waaaayyyy too jumpy. We dont flame and dont get bent out of shape if you ask a question that has already been asked. Judging by the way you asked a question..i can probably take a pretty good guess at what other forum you are a member of ;)

Sparkys got ya. Welcome to the site too.

Some dealers actually carry that piece. Not too expensive either.

LMFAO, you just made me laugh out loud. u probably dont know the other sites im part of. they are a totaly different vehicle. but if you wanna check it out it mx6.com all of us veterans over there get pist when someone signs up and ask the same question that was asked the same thread right before it. like " hey i want to make my first gen AWD this weekend what do i need y0?" it just gets on every ones nerves after 5 months of it.

Dont remember all of it. But basically pull the steering wheel and there is a pin that comes out.

X2. I think its a T30 or T25 torx screw pin. Its pretty easy with the proper tools.
