Alright lets start from the beginning. Got a jasper 305HO, stuck in a crane cam, lifters, and push rods. Gets it in, did not want to cut the drive shaft so pull the motor forward. Now i have no space for a fan so i put my flexalite fan in front but sit to far from the radiator. 2nd problem my manifolds burnt my wires and the truck stumbles, but my dad says that how they run with the cam. My 3rd question is how do i get my four barrel to open up rite. An how do i hook up my electric choke? i have set the carb screws and all. but when i slam on gas it dont open up what am i missing here Iny help would be big help!! Thanks

What are you running for a carb ? I'm assuming that you have vacume secondarys. Is all the linkage working properly are there any vacume leaks? How much timing are you running? It really shouldn't stumble just cause you have a cam in it unless it isn't tuned correctly or its the wrong cam for your application. It could be any number of things but without much info it is next to impossible to diagnose so give us some more info and we'll try to help

My dist was out by 180degreez off. My wires was arking. But i dont think my carb is giving enough fuel. Whats the best carb for a 305HO 86 266crane cam, 350 heads, and 700r4 with work done and whats the best rear end gears. And what else do you guys thinkg i could do for more power. I not going for all out fast but at least low 13's at the track.

Either an 1850 Holley or a 1406/2155 Edelbrock (both rated at 600 cfm).
3.73 gears and full length headers.
I was gonna say no more than a 600cfm carb. If your dist was 180 off thats gonna create a LOT of drivability issues right off the bat. Get the dist fixed and test drive and see if you are still having the same problems you are having. What carb size are you runing now?

Don't know the year. The cam is small, 'bout the same size you have. The intake is your basic aluminum dual plane (although I like the Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap). The heads are off a 305 SS Monte Carlo, so they're decent heads. He has posi and MT ET Street Drags with cheapo traction bars.
His 60' time is deadly and consistent. I'll see if I can't get him to sign up here.

ThanksI put two fans off of a 89 z28 iroc in the front of mine and it wont even get to 180 with both of them on. and if it stumbles down low check the timing
The choke horn wont open when you open the gas. The acutal barrels will, but the choke horn will not. And i believe the electric choke positive gets connected to a key on 12 volt source correct?

For a 305 even with jst a cam 600CFM will feed it just fine.If it's a a Holley style carb here are some hints and tuning tips. QUESTION- How do I tell what size carb I need?
ANSWER- You take the engine cubic inch and multiply by the maximum RPM and divide by 3456. If you have an automatic transmission you will need a vacuum sec. carb, a standard transmission can use a Double Pumper carb.
QUESTION -How do I tell what size power valve I need?
ANSWER -To properly size a power valve, take a vaccum reading at idle and if it is above 12" for a standard transmission a 6.5" will be safe to use. For automatic transmissions take a vaccume reading in gear at idle and if the vaccum is below 12" divide that in half for proper size. Example 9" of vaccume in gear at idle will require a 4.5" power valve.
QUESTION -Where do I hook up my electric choke?
ANSWER -The positive (+) spade on the choke cap needs a wire from a 12v that is hot anytime the key is on ( from fuse box to anything that is only hot with the key ) The neg. (-) spade on the choke cap will go back to the carb for a ground.
QUESTION- How do I adjust the fast idle on my electric choke?
ANSWER -To adjust the fast idle you will need to hold the throttle wide open ( without the engine running) this will drop a lever under the choke housing with a 1/4" screw in it to slow it down turn it counter clockwise to speed it up turn it clockwise.
QUESTION- How do I adjust the fuel level on my carburetor?
ANSWER -To adjust the fuel level you will need to take out the sight plug in the side of the fuel bowl and with it running Loosen the lock screw on top of the fuel bowl and turn the nut clockwise to lower the level or counter clockwise to bring up the level you want it to be at the bottom of the sight hole If you turned it too far down it might have bent the tang on the float. to get back to a starting place, you will need to take out the lock screw and turn the nut so the needle & seat is 1/2 way through the thickness of the nut then put the screw back in, then take the fuel bowl off and hold it upside down & level then bend the tang on the float so the float is level in the center of the fuel bowl. This will get you back to a starting place.
QUESTION -How do I adjust the pump shot on my carburetor?
ANSWER- Look down in the carb without it running move the throttle and see if the two sprays of fuel shoot as soon as the throttle moves if it is not instant back off the nut on the pump arm 1 full turn counter clockwise then check it again do this until it is instant.
QUESTION -How do I adjust the mixture screws on my carburetor?
ANSWER -To set the mixture screws, first get the engine up to temp, then kill it, then screw the screws all the way in and back them out 3 full turns restart the engine, with it up to temp and @ idle turn one in 1/4 turn then the other one in 1/4 turn go from one to the other 1/4 turn at a time until you hear a RPM drop then back both out 1/8 turn or you can do the same thing with a vacuum guage to get the maximum vacuum reading keeping them even.
QUESTION -After I shut my car off and come back out the next morning there is gas on the throttle shaft and puddled on the intake. What causes this?
ANSWER -This is usually caused by percolation. This is when the engine is shut off and the engine temperature rises it causes the fuel to boil in the bowl and leak out of the boosters. There are a couple of things you can do to cure this one is make sure the fuel level is not too high. You can also lower the fuel level about 1/8" below the sight plug hole and this will cure it sometimes. The heat from the engine will rise into the carburetor sometimes and will cause the fuel to boil. Installing a phenolic heat spacer between the carburetor and the intake or a heat shield can cure this. These parts will prevent heat from getting to the carburetor and boiling the fuel.
QUESTION -How do I know if a vacuum or mechanical secondary carburetor is best for me?
ANSWER -For streetcars the vacuum secondary carburetor works best on mid-weight or heavyweight cars with an automatic transmission. They are more forgiving than a double pumper is because they work by sensing engine load. The mechanical secondary carburetor is best on a lighter car with radical camshaft and a lower gear and manual transmission or on a car that is going to be used for racing purposes.
QUESTION- I just bought a new carburetor and it has a warning that it will not work with an overdrive transmission. What can I do about this?
ANSWER -This warning was placed with the carburetor because if not installed properly with the correct transmission kickdown bracket for the GM 700R4 it will result in premature transmission failure. Part 20-95 and 20-121 with the kickdown mounting stud part #20-40 will allow the proper adjustment of the cable.
QUESTION -Why is my engine running rich and my mixture screws do not have effect?
ANSWER -The first thing you need to ckeck is your float level. No fuel should run from the sight hole unless you shake the vehicle. Next check the engine vacuum at idle. (in gear if A/T) if it is 12" or more a 6.5" powervalve will usually be fine. Anything below 12" divide in half. For example 9" vacuum will use a 4.5" power valve. Another possible cause associated with performance cam shafts are exposed transfer slots. You should not see more than .025"-.030" of the transfer slot exposed past the throttle plate at idle.

How about the fuel pressure what should it be? I took the one out my tank and stuck in a inline but it bogs really bad like it starving for fuel, plus my fuel pressure is like 3-4psi i dont think that will do it do they sell high psi and volume and who sellls it becuz i need it real bad it does not have the right power its slugish. Also what should i do next headers or intake
