i looked in the how-to's and i might have missed it, but i got an aftermarket tach for my 95 s10 and i got instructions but they are pretty generic, is there any vehicle specific diagrams that i could look at?

Green goes to the tach signal (negative side of the coil, i.e., not the pink wire), white wire goes to dash lamps, red is 12V key on and black is ground. Should be all.

i know that this is a dumb question, but where is the ignition coil? i cant find it on my 2.2.... and when i do find it, how do i hook the wire up to it for my tach?

You will have to t tap into it, your tach should come with some stuff to tap into it. As for its location...i havent had much hood time under a 2.2....SPARKY

Well damn. Hmmmmm.......

Guess you're gonna have to find the tach signal wire in the instrument cluster. The 2.2 is DIS so no good tach signal there.

I'll see if I can't find a wire color and location.

It's the white wire in the Instrument Cluster connector. Looks like pin #1.

The shift lamp is turned on by the computer or cluster module. You need to use the white wire in the instrument cluster connector. You will find it when you remove the instrument cluster and inspect the connector.

Did you connect the green tach wire to the white dash wire, then hook up the positive and negative on the tach?

what do you mean there is no negative? Hook the positive up to a 12v source, ground the negative, then hook the tach signal wire up to the white wire in the dash connection, or pin 1 (i believe) of your diag port.
