I want to lift my 95 Non-Z 4x4 S10, and am looking for the cheap route. I have researched and found that 2" Body Lift, Shacles, and a T-bar crank would get me to being able to put 32" tires on her. And that would be great with me. Now I just need to know a good place where I can get schackles that can possibly correct my sagging leaf spring in the back. How to crank the T-bar. And what is the tire code for 32" tires that would replace my 235/75/15. Also I read something about flipping the leaf springs. I was interested in lifting the back higher than the front. How drastic would that be?

i have had ideas about simply putting the leafs on top of the axle instead of under....so far only thing it need spring perches and would make the ride more like a pickup..

Flipping the rear springs to over the axle could net you up to five inches of lift. So it's just a bit too extreme of a rake IMO.

I'd avoid cranking the t-bar too, not the best thing.

Lifting the S-10 properly really isn't cheap, sorry.

But, if you do do the t-bar. Make sure to get an alignment afterwards, some things you may want to replace too.

Is this a Blazer or Pickup??

Cranking the torsion bars can vary from vehicle to vehicle... right now our Blazer has 9 turns on the torsion bars with no really adverse effects. But, my pickup had horrible problems with the torision bars cranked even a few turns... the difference was that the Blazer had 'softer' suspension being a Sport and the Pickup had off-road, stiffer suspension... It all depends on YOUR vehicle... give it a few turns and see what happens. You should be able to gain 1-1.5" with the stock keys.

On the crossmember where the torsion bars mount there will be some bolts that stick down.. all you need to do is to tighten those bolts. Ideally you would take the weight off of the front end and tighten the bolts, counting the number of turns so that it is even on both sides. It can be done with the front wheels on the ground, but it's more stress on the adjuster and it's harder to turn the wrench. I use a 1/2" drive to get enough leverage.

Just remember, if the T-bars are worn (or if you have Sport suspension), tightening those bolts will not affect the spring rate of them. So it will ride higher, but for the most part it will be the same squishy ride.

Now if you have a saggy rear issue, shackles won't help too much and in fact can cause pinion load problems (went through this with the Blazer). Your best bet is to upgrade the springs and then use shackles or use add-a-leafs instead. I have actually thought about doing spring over in the Blazer too... it would add about 4 inches, but right now it still is a bit lower in the rear even with springs and shackles. Besides, I like a rake...

Oh, and the tire size should just be 32s... I don't think they use the metric sizing with the 15" in the larger sizes.

I have a s10 pickup. Yea I was measuring my trucks wheel wells to figure out how much sag I have. It appears that one side is sagging a 1/4" and the other side is actually 1/4" above the fronts measurement. This maybe due to the fact that I replaced the bed and broke alot of bolts putting the new one on. Although I did that before winter. Anyways has anyone noticed this before is this normal?

So just one side is saggy? I've seen that a lot on pickups that have hauled lot of heavy loads... you should probably check into new springs for it. I would doubt the bed mounting bolts have much to do with it.

If the drivers side is saggin you have the chevy lean my friend

Yea I didn't think the bed mounting bolts had much to do with it either, and yes it is the driver sid that is leaning. This truck has over 150,000 miles on it and was previouly owned by the Electric Company. With that said does it sound like I need new leaf springs? I looked into them and they are pretty expensive. Are there any other options I have or cheaper routes?
