What gives? I have had to replace this thing again. Truck wasn't running very well with lots of knocking and pinging and throws a code. Checked it out and it was the low voltage for the MAF. Go to the parts store, get it swapped for another new one and the knock is gone.
Maybe it was just bad luck but having to replace it a 2nd time makes me curious. Before anyone asks, I don't use an oiled filter, so there isn't an oily film on the elements causing bad reads. It was just screwed up.
Could something else on the truck cause the early demise of my MAF?
