Manifolds and single exhaust would be the first to go if it was mine.
Also, got a pic of the Mr Gasket inline pump? Sounds like an old cheesy "clicker" pump that has a hard time feeding a strong 4 banger, much less a 350.

That's what I was thinking.Get a decent Holley or even Edelbrock inline pump for Carb's.If your truck still has the intank pump use it but with a good regulator that can bring the fuel pressure down to Carb pressure levels.

Tiny cam, but you should still easily be running mid 14's. High 13's if you set up the drivetrain and suspension right.

What Sparky said and get a good flowing intake and a good carb.Throw that Rochester in the trash if power is what your looking for.The heads are probably a drawback to.Get some vortecs and you will see some power improvements.Especially with a good intake, good carb, and good free flowing exhaust.
yup, im with the above. Free up your exhaust, get a decent carb, and some cam

3.73 posi unit from camaro
msd box w/ rev limiter
two flowmater 40's, headers shorty
roller tip rockers
elderbrock performer rpm intake high rise
Okay now is there a way i can leave the tiny cam and still reach my goal. I dont wont to go into the block
How hp can i get from this
Elderbrock intake
headers, no cats h-pipe and two flowmasters
holley 650cfm carb
msd box
roller rockers

people tell me to get the heads off and but on some vortec but my elderbrock wont bolt to those, what could i do for cheap to my 305 heads in order for them to be better than my 350 heads

get that engine breathing better, a Edelbrock Performer RPM 500 CFM carb is around 250 bucks. if it were my truck it would have a HEI Ignition system, 12 gallon fuel cell, and electric external fuel pump. those heads dont flow as well as newer heads would,if you were up to it a port polish and 3 way valve job would show some improvement. heres a link to DIY http://www.sa-motorsports.com/diyport.shtm i know how it is to be in high school, im there, graduating in june i brought my ZQ8 to the vocational car show last friday, i couldnt enter the show because i was a day late on my registration, still trailered it there and made my point known. 5 inch side dumps turned a lot of heads and the smell of 112 Cam2 attracted the attention of the automotive teachers, now that was a feeling i havent felt before!

Well if they are 305 heads they are probably a small chamber style head which will bump up the compresion helping power out some but unless you port them out they are gonna flow like **** depending on what they came off of.TPI 305 heads flow pretty good and can bump the power up with the small combustion chamber they have.I think they are like 58/60cc.They have to be small to make any power from a 305.

Im almost willing to bet they are the old 882 catsings or close.Thoses heads are not worth a dime in my opinion.Im telling for real man for the money you WON"T beat the vortec heads for power and price.Brand new out of the box complete and ready to bolt up is only 500 bucks. But you can buy them used for a lot less than that. They are the best flowing head GM has ever designed to fit on the smallblock. They even out flow and perform the old double hump style heads that were a favorite of racers and street rodders.Even if yoiu have to buy a new intake it WILL be worth it when you have the power your looking for.Almost all of GM's performace crate engines come with vortec heads because they make the most power. Here is a link to their engines.Just look at how many of their engines with 300hp and up have vortec heads.GMPP (http://www.gmgoodwrench.com/perfpartsjsp/partlist.jsp?section=ce&cat=9274)

Those heads are a dime a dozen from the fuel cruch years and they aint worth **** in my opinion with out a hell of a lot of work.Again Vortecs ya can't beat them.Heads to stay away from are casting numbers 185,336,624,and 882's.They are all weak casts and the port designs are awfull. Here is a pic with shapes at the ends of good heads with potential and there casting numbers.

nos ain't even on my mind how this sound..
Double Humbs with 202 valves (150 bucks) brand new every thing
Edelbrock performer rpm intake
Holley 650 carb
msd box
headers w/ full exhaust
machine shops says with good traction this should be low13's or high 12's depending on how strong the block is.
Is this true or is he spinning my wheel.

He's dead on. "With good traction" means exactly that.
dump the double humps. They were good heads for the day, but the vortecs with their smaller valves out flow them any day. Put big valves on the vortecs you are talking about a baaad budget head. Get the correct intake (the ports are diff, so it nees a different intake) and you will be doing well.
