I sold it to a guy for 100 bucks but I get to keep the motor and trans and drive shaft so hopefully later this summer itll be in my truck......now off subject but does anybody know if a newer crown vic(cop car) can take parts off a mustang, since theyre both 4.6l??
we tried figuring this out today talking about the new ford explorer with the 4.6 and if you could run the dohc heads and blower from a cobra mustang. They are billed as the modular motor, so I would think so, but i dont have any experience doing something like that with these

Yup. That's why it's deemed the "modular" motor. Here's a better idea. Use a 5.4 ;)
yeah, but you can buy a explorer sport trac with a 4.6

i was looking into gettin a police interceptor, cheap and have their fair share of power, plus the flashing front lights are a plus, but all that dosent cancel out that blue oval on the front grille.

The modular motor will interchange every part from on to another. That was Ford's way of saving money when designing the modular engine.Same with the 5.4.

Oh and when the engine was in it's concept stage it was gonna be a front wheel drive engine but a top Ford Exec wanted Ford to start being a "high tech company" with the OHC V8 engine so in the Mustangs and everything else they went and from there it went in everything.
