Heres a list of mods i have done to the truck. The old list is how it was when i got it and the new list is what ive changed. The truck sounds good but in my opinion its fast but I think should be running faster.
1995 Chevrolet S-10

Old list:

350 factory roller cam motor w/1.6 rocker arms, edelbrock performer intake, Holley 600cfm vac secondarys just rebuilt, msd 55,000 volt dist w/ vac advance on it, patriot shorty headers (from s10v8.com), has th-350 trans w/shift kit/has roller bearings in it to reduce friction (3 inch tail shaft),lokar throttle cable and kick down cable with tranny dip stick, chrome air filter, has msd extra long high heat plug wires (there getting kind of soft might need new one and the end of summer), has shorty header plugs in it(if you ever need to change them stay with the same number plug), when I got the carb rebuilt I tuned it up too, set the timing at 12 degrees, used and vacuum gauge and put it on the emission tester the read the exhaust gas readings. has a 10 bolt 3.42 8.5 rear end (posi unit g80) camaro rims and tires w/ new tires and rims in the back. I am giving you that compressor for the a/c and anything else I have for the truck and or anything that I don't need that you may use. Has dual fans and a switch that is hidden near the hood open latch (will show you everything then). 2 cherry pipes 2 1/4 inch exhaust that go in and out in two sections that are fully welded together. Wow after typing all this I didn't realize how much I had done to it.

New list:

New rebuild of motor (due to wrong stall converter to a drilled offset flywheel) (threw it out of balance)

--- Full crank kit up to the top

--- Comp cams 292 or 280 roller (cant remember)

--- Edelbrock performer RPM intake manifold

--- Holley 650 Double Pumper carb

--- 1 inch carb spacer adapter plate

--- Electronic thermostat controls for the fans

--- New chrome Tall valve covers

--- Larger 14 inch Holley chrome air breather

--- New red 8mm plug wires and plugs

--- Painted the engine bay black and reduced unnecessary wires

--- Painted the block and heads Chevrolet orange

--- Northern twin core radiator (3 inches thick)

--- 16 inch flexalite electric fan

--- Reworked the transmission while it was out replacing the trans mount

--- New flywheel

--- New 2200 rpm B&M stall converter

--- 98 S-10 wheels and new tires (trying to keep the sleeper look but the wheel spin is ridiculous.)

--- Black bug guard for the front of the hood

--- 20% tinted windows

--- Ripped out the vinyl bench seat and floor mat

--- Installed a gray 60/40 cloth bench seat out of another truck

--- Also installed dark gray carpet out of the same vehicle to match

--- Installed a B&M ratchet shifter in the console area

--- Re-organized the gauges and installed a 5 inch auto meter tachometer with a shift light (other one I fried)

--- Swapped the cd player with my newer cd player out of my work truck

I’m sure theres a few other parts I don’t remember putting in but this gives a general idea.

Im not sure on the heads but the guy told me they came off a crate motor. They are the centerbolt (Valve cover bolts) but i dont think they are vortec. I remember him saying something about a some kind of swirl heads?
Any ideas on how to make it more efficient making power and or faster?
Sorry for the long list but its off the flyer i have. I have it for sale but im at the crossroads on whether to let it go as it is now (which is fine) or drop more money and make it faster.

whats it run? 1/4 time and trap speed that would be helpful

Havent gotten it to the track yet. It just seems like it should be alot faster. Its not slow by any means but i guess the point of my post was to see if there was anything obvious that didnt match parts wise or at least some suggestions on what to change.
My first problem was getting involved in owning a truck i know nothing about. I love motorcycles and race them but there is a big difference in a motorcross bike motor and a 350. I am in the position of having to trust everyone else whether wrong or right as far as building this so far. Im learning as i go i guess you could say.
I am also kinda screwed because long story short the builder of this motor and myself nolonger talk so im really on my own now. I have a good mechanic that works on my company vehicles but he doesnt like to do this custom work so much.
I guess what im also trying to say is that i can ask 20 different mechanics how to build a motor and get 20 different answers but i just thought id get some ideas here or suggestions on what i have and or should change.

i would say that you need to get some different heads or have some work done to the ones that you have. that is where you will notice the biggest increase in power, cause that is alot of cam for a stock headed motor

Yeah , the cam was the biggest we could go without having to rework the heads or replace them. Anyone got any they are willing to part with?

My question is was this a crate motor..and if itwas/is.. what kind is it? a ZZ3, ZZ4.. stock replacement w/ factory roller cam from a camaro, vette, truck? Your starting base could be anything.. & just knowing the cam isn't enough, although it does sound like a butt load of cam unless you do have some good heads, headers & a good intake that matches the cam (like a single plane manifold, your's is a dual plane which doesn't match as well). Compression ratio is another thing that's helpful, maybe your's is a very low 8:1.. in which case I'd say drop in dome pistons or shave your heads down a little to take some of those extra cc's outta the way.
