So my mom is having our chimnys serviced so we dont have to worry about it later in the year (needed a new liner, etc).
I was half asleep when they came so I didnt answer the door. Guess they thought no one was home, & started working. Later on just as I was getting out of bed I heard a metal on metal bang, but didnt think to much of it because they were replacing the metal liner.
FWD >>> later today, I go to get in my truck to go somewhere and notice this....

Excuse the crappy pics.
Looks like a hammer or something fell off the roof on to my HOOD. What looks like a white spot is I think a paint spear from whatever hit it & left the dent (rubber hammer?). As well as cracking the paint inside the dent. There is a smaller mark too,, ahead of the big mark, not as obvious. Anyone know what kind of work they would do to get the dent out?
It is a smooth dent with out any nicks, just a small crack. Whatever hit is was smooth. Wouldnt of been a rock or anything... if so a rock of this size would still be lying nearby...
They generously left the $1,500 bill, with the notes describing the chimney work, but left no mention of dropping anything on my car. Left without telling anyone, I guess expecting not to notice.
I called about it after I noticed but they were already closed. They are coming back tomorrow to finish work on the other chimney. Any advice on what to do if they deny it? I mean its basically my word vs. theirs.
Sure as hell wasnt there yesterday afternoon when I poped the hood & checked the oil, & it wasnt there last night at 10pm when I took my moms car to the store... My mother didnt notice any dent this morning... Last time I checked rocks & hammers dont fall out of the sky.,,
What luck... of 3 cars in the driveway it could of hit (my old blazer, new blazer, and my sisters car). It hit my '01... if it would of hit any of the other we wouldnt of cared. SOB.
any advice? If they deny it, a rock or hammer might rain on their POS Ram. Cause it seems to be a common occurance around my house.
